Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust signs up to the latest generation CIRIS for the long term.

Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust was formed in April 1999 and provides acute healthcare to a population of 229,000 located within West Lancashire and Southport and Formby. The Trust employs approximately 2,500 whole time equivalent staff and has a bed compliment of 530 inpatient beds and 50 day case beds.

The Trust was awarded the highest level under the Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (now NHSLA) for both general medical and surgical services and for the separate category of maternity services and are one of only three Hospitals in England to have achieved this.

For the fifth year running, Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust has been named among the top performers in the country’s sixth 40 Top Hospitals programme assessed by the country’s leading hospital benchmarking company, CHKS. The Trust is the only one on Merseyside to be among this year’s 40 Top Hospitals, and one of only three from Cheshire & Merseyside Strategic Health Authority.
