The CIRIS Governing Board met on the 25th March 2004. A wide ranging agenda covered many items, including a discussion on how the Governing Board will be structured to support the ongoing development of CIRIS and its uptake across the radiology service. New members to the board were welcomed - Maureen Richardson, Dorothy Evans and Alison Womack – who will directly support the editorial board led by Dr Sue Barter. The editorial board is keen to recruit new members from both the Radiologist and Radiographer community.

The CIRIS Scottish Liaison Board (CSLB) reported that the recent data collection exercise has been successfully completed with a final report being presented to the Scottish Executive. Plans are now in place for a second exercise in May 2004. It was also reported that SIGN, (Scottish Intercollegiate Guideline Network) have agreed to allow their clinical guidelines to be incorporated into CIRIS.

The board thanked Dr Peter Cavanagh who stepped down as Chair at the last meeting and Ann Cattell who stepped down at this meeting. The Board noted that CIRIS will once more be present at UKRC, the stand being set up to allow live demonstrations of the system to everyone attending the conference in Manchester this June.
